Question Hood scoop Coversion

I am thinking about buying a 2011 hood for my 2014 camaro SS and applying the 2014 hood scoop. Has anyone ever done this before? Can this be done? or would it be easier to just buy the 2014 hood and then apply the hood scoop? Trying to do this the cheapest way possible.

Thanks for any advice you can give?

You mean, thinking about buying the 2014 hood and adding it to your 2011?

It's already been done....

Additionally, if you are just looking for the scoop...

no I have a 2014 camaro and the hood was stolen off of it.. So i want to replace it without spending a ton of money. So I found a local person who has a cheap 2011 hood but I want it to look like my old hood so I was thinking about adding the hood scoop to the 2011 hood if that is possible?

OHHHH...well your info says you have a 2011...so hence why I asked.... As for the hood....the 2011 and 2014 hoods have different body lines on it....so it wont line up properly...

Unfortunately, your best options are to look at a 2014 hood...or an aftermarket one....or a ZL1 hood will work also...from any year model....

The 2010-2013 V6/v8(non-zl1)hoods and the 2014-2015 v6 hoods have the same body lines, The 2014-2015 V8 hoods have a slightly wider cowl section. So like DevilsrReject97 said, an earlier hood wont fit your '14 SS. It will bolt on fine and close, but the front lines wont match up perfectly.

Insurance won't cover replacement?
