Magnaflow or Flowmaster?
Well, I've decided to get the first mod for the car. Trouble is, I'm not sure which sounds better: Magnaflow or Flowmaster?
The shop I always use says Magnaflows with resonaters...but i like loud and have always gone Flows with no resonaters. Any opinions on which may sound better TO YOU as I realize better sound is a very subjective thing. Thanks! |

I went to a muffler shop that let me test both the Magnaflow and Flowies before they were welded on. The magnaflows have a richer sound with less interior noise. However, the flowmasters will give you a beefier, more V8 sound. I have the axle-backs on my 1LT/RS, you can't go wrong, your Camaro will sound like a beast. However, if you take long trips and don't want the heavy sound throughout the trip, the Magnaflows will be better for those long trips.

I did the magna flows it's quit when driving, when you step on it you will hear them. Flow master are louder. The shop I went to but 5 different mufflers so I could hear the difference between them and pick one out. If you want it loud all the time go with the flow masters if you what a quiet ride go with the magma flows..just my opinion

My personal oppinion is the Flowmasters sound better. Again, this is only my oppinion and I don't have any reasearch showing peformance gains, MPG gains, or anything of that nature. My car has long tube headers, no cats, full 3" Flowmaster exhaust, and with the high lift cam I have, it is loud as hell.

Magnaflow has my vote, not to loud but when you get on it a little they open up.

Magnaflows for sure, my tuning shop says flowmasters really don't flow all that well and have proven it on a dyno time after time, I gotta go with what they know.....

The flowmaster axle back for our v6 is a great deal and sounds good. I added the resonated xpipe to quiet it inside but it sounds a bit deeper with my short tube headers

A shop gave me a price of 350$ for parts and labor for flowmaster 40 series. Is this a reasonable price?

I believe it was just the 2 40 series flow masters. 40 each for additional tips after the initial 350...

Some may be who you go to and locale, but I bought the mufflers and x-pipe online and they supplied the 2.5" pipe and labor.200~ for parts and 185.00 for tube and labor.
