ZL1 to 1LE

Anybody switched from a ZL1 to 1LE? If so, any regrets? What do you like or not like about the change?

Other than the power difference and less weight over the front axel , they are pretty close to the same. Same tire sizes, same MRC, albeit with different software due to weight.

I would think you would get a little better handling in the 1LE , but obviously lose straight line acceleration.

Why would you do That? You already have basically everything a 2SS1LE would have. Plus you have the power advantage. The only switch I could ever see as a step up would be to go to a Grand Sport or Z06.

I can't speak from personal experience but there is no way I would willingly go from a ZL1 to a SS 1LE. If it's for financial reason, I could see it but other than that, no way.

This is the reason I won't drive my friend's Z06. I don't want to know what it feels like because I need to keep the warranty on my 1LE DD and also don't think I want to dump $6k into it! If I feel that power - I'm screwed!!

This section of the site is very confusing. Shouldn't there be a sub forum for the various 1LE versions available? ZL1, SS, 4 banger, 6 banger?

Partly for financial reasons, but the other was to start with a larger SC. I think i would miss the A10.

Not as confusing as to why you posted this in this thread. It has nothing to do with the original question or ongoing discussion.

after having a 2ss as a DD and zl1 1le as a garage queen, I have not driven many A10 Zl1s but when I did I felt like the A10 held more readily power in your hands than the zl1 1le.

the 1le was ALOT of fun but kind of too much effort to drive being I only used to for leisure and not tracks.

i recently sold the 1le to payoff a few things but having best of both worlds, I hate the SS mainly because of the miserable A8 and power difference lol

Yeah, but the SS 1LE, that is the sweet spot

Keep in mind, the LT4 in the ZL1 has stronger internals that are built to handle boost. I'm not saying the LT1 can't handle boost, but the ZL1 will have a higher ceiling for power. Also depending on which supercharger you go with and other supporting mods, it might be just be cheaper to stick with the ZL1 rather than selling it, buying a 1LE and then supercharging it to get the same or maybe a bit more power.

Maybe some people get in too deep and decide they don't need all that power...
