New camaro owner - what do I need to know about vehicle wraps?

I have a gray 2017 ZL1 Convertible which I am excited about, but I've always loved yellow on a Camaro. I am thinking about doing a vinyl wrap, but I don't know anything about the pros and cons of wraps, or what is a reasonable price? Also, does having a convertible complicate it for any reason? Lastly, what would I need to know about maintenance and washing? Anybody ever do a wrap on a Camaro and not be happy about it?

1.They last a couple years, after a year some of the edges can look frayed.
2. The installer skill is paramount, The difference between a good wrap job and a bad wrap job
3. Expensive, IMO
4. Just my opinion, but they never look as good as gloss paint. However they protect, and they allow you to get colors on your car that you can’t get from the factory.

I have a wrap on my hood and mirrors. Had it done professionally. The hood was done perfectly; however, the mirrors had to be redone. Whoever did my mirrors the second time was more skilled than the first... same shop. I'm 100% satisfied. Believe I have a 5 year warranty on my wrap. I wash the car myself. High pressure water has been fine. Full car wrap should run $3-5K.

Glen! I found your guidance about C7 sound proofing on another forum to be invaluable. Thanks for the input here too.

Autoflex looks interesting. I like the high gloss color-changing examples. I wish their site showed a list of all of their colors.

I've had mine wrapped a couple of times. A good price is $2500-$3500. Having a convertible probably makes it easier because there is less to wrap. In terms of washing and maintenance there isn't really any. You wash it like normal and do not wax a wrap so its a bit easier to clean than paint. Has saved me a lot of rock chips and marks. Totally worth it to protect the paint and be unique at the same time IMO.

I would love to find a color shifting yellow wrap or dip. I.e. warm yellow to cool yellow, not yellow to red or green.

The best you could do would be to get a yellow plasti dip and then add a yellow dip juice to it.
