Question does the oem 20 inch wheels/tires fit in the car?

Anybody knows if it is even possible to fit the SS oem wheels/tires in the car if you need to switch them and transport them?

I had a hard time fitting a 205/55R16 tire through the trunk opening. In the end, I was able to stack 2 of them.

My guess is that the stock RS tire is maybe too big for the opening. I won't even try to think about the SS or 1LE tires.

Is that safe? Wouldn't one of those wheels kill you in an accident?

Seems like the GM trailer hitch and a little trailer would be MUCH safer.

Well, I will only have to drive like 2 km to the garage to switch wheels, so I am not afraid of taking that risk. I just don't want to make many trips back and forth just for that.

If you're that worried, you could always seat-belt them in or otherwise tie them down so they'd stay put.

What worries me is that society is teaching itself to be so afraid of just about everything that any possible "negative outcome" is seen as a near-guarantee that it'll happen every time. aka, no tolerance for risk no matter how minimal or unlikely.

If one will pass thru the trunk opening you can do it, used to get them in my Mustang, push three thru the trunk with the seat back down of course and one in the pass seat. But I *think* the trunk opening might be too small on the Camaro, Im gonna try it later.

My Mom laid down and slept in the rear deck package shelf of my Grandfather’s ‘54 Pontiac when she was a baby.

She’s still here.
