GM Cold Air Intake Part Number Confusion.
Ordered the GM Cold Air Intake from here.. I have a 2018 SS 1LE.
https://www.shopchevyparts.com/perfo...-92297347.html Shows it as part number 84651227 That's the same part number shown here on the Chevy site. https://www.chevrolet.com/performanc...6camaro/intake PART NO. 84651227: 2016+ Camaro LT1, SS and SS 1LE models Called a local San Diego dealer about having the tune done and they said that part isn't for my car. I'm pretty sure it's right part, but from searching a bit, I noticed there may be a new part number. https://wildhammermotorsports.com/16...eneral-motors/ 84877903 (Replaces Part Numbers 84651227, 84531831, 84329125, & 84162081) Sounds like it's the same thing though.. just updated the part number?? |

Yes, it's the same thing, the 50-state legal version. GM often updates part numbers, no surprise here. Give the dealer this new part number and hear what their catalog says, you'll need them to flash the tune in order to retain the warranty.

Got the intake installed myself.. took about 40 minutes.
Found a dealer in San Diego that hooked up the tune with no fuss.. |

I bought the CAI brand (who makes the GM CAI) and have had for over 20,000 miles and got the p3400 CEL the other day so I took it to the dealer and they said it was because of my CAI.
What the heck? After I told them I have been running it for 20k they looked it back over and pretty much said they don't know what caused it. I have no clue where to go from here. |
