Keep in mind that some of these "best sellers" are pushed hard by vendors and just so happen to be $100-$200 cheaper than other intakes. Of course they will sell better if they produce gains and are cheap. IMO the big "gains" you get from some of these CAI kits are simply from a lower restriction air cleaner and the elimination of the resonator tubes.

Air doesn't want to bend. It doesn't want to hit the front of a Camaro grill, then make a 90 degree turn to the right, then a 90 degree turn straight up through the filter, followed by another 90 degree turn to the left, and then a 90 degree bend to the right and through the TB. The most effective setup will be a straight shot over the radiator. Vararam, and New Era, and I think there is now another player (don't quote me), have such systems. Don't be fooled by a static dyno test with a fan blowing onto the front of the car. It doesn't simulate road conditions or track conditions very accurately. When your car moves forward there is a high pressure zone created right in front of the grill. The system that can get that air into the engine with the least amount of bends will perform the best.

Oh, grab some popcorn!

I put a CAI and didn't notice much if any change (looks sick tho!) but after I installed a Vmax Throttle Body from Tampa Tuning I could definitely notice a difference!

Any problems with the CEL after installation?

I've heard so many conflicting stories from the guys I work with that I thought this would be the place to get some honest answers.

Thanks in advance!
Best bang for the buck may not be the top dog in air flow but for $46.44 on amazon the Green Filter - Part #7089 is best bang for the buck.

According to Vararam flows the same as a Roto Fab.

CAI may increase HP whether its a fact or not, I don't care anymore. I advise you to just buy the CAI of your choice. I got the Z28 CAI with no complaints but I wasted too much time contemplating and researching whether or not it helps. Whenever I pushed my car, I always wondered what it would feel like if I had the intake(took away from the fun). Today I tell myself this, Im pushing around 430-440 hp, 426hp stock plus npp(supposedly gives you 6hp) plus CAI(supposedly gives you around 5-10hp). It may still be exactly the same as stock in terms of power but at least I have 1 less "what if" to worry about.

I saw justicepete is using the z28 cold air intake in his latest project. Add another one to the list!

Why not? Benefit of millions of GM R&D dollars. Made specifically for our cars. I'd say it's the best mod i've done

Cold Air Intakes seem to be dubious in general. You might get a couple wheel horse power, but don't count on it. They will be used against you to void your warranty. So is that 5whp worth throwing out your 5 year / 100k mile power train warranty? I don't think so.

Still, I had an itch I wanted to scratch, so I bought a Green Filter USA air filter this morning. Should arrive in a couple days. I just want to sharpen up the throttle response a little. We shall see.

This has to be a joke... Don't talk if you don't have a clue what you're talking about. Maybe 5whp? There are literally thousands upon thousands of dyno sheets out there proving you are wrong... Warranty voided over a CAI? Not even worth going into detail of how ridiculously silly and incorrect that is. They can't just pop your hood and see a CAI and tell you your warranty is done. That's not how it works. Educate yourself instead of spreading misinformation...
