Exhaust sound on road trips
Does anyone but me get tired of their relatively loud aftermarket exhaust. I have a 2011 SS with Borla sport cat backs. On long road trips I get tired of the loud exhaust sound in the cabin. Makes it hard to listen to music and talk with the passenger, usually my wife.
Am I just a whiner?

Not me. I got retro chambered cat back and lt headers with no cats and it's still not loud enough for me. But I like a loud car lol

The loud exhaust seems like something positive.
Maybe it's something positive for your wife.

That can't be too loud to affect music or talking at all. Try putting sound deadener in the whole trunk. I heard it helps a lot.

That's why I went Solo. The exhaust that someone installed on my car previously had a great sound, but was way too loud in the cab. With my Solo setup it is almost stock while cruising, but screams when you get on it. Gotta love drone free!

In the previous car I had before the camaro, the drone inside the cabin sucked! I hated it because it was loud and I had to blast music to drown it out, and constantly say "what?" When I had passengers. I also had a V6 and wanted it to sound mean... But you just can't.
Now that I have a 2012 2SS/RS, the previous owner put on a borla exhaust. It's loud in the cabin and usually I have to ask my gf to repeat what she said. But when I drive alone, I barely listen to music and listen to the engine. The difference? It sounds awesome because it's a V8 and its like music to my ears. I visit my parents and brother sometimes, and they live 4 hours away. The drone doesn't bother me anymore.

Ditto. Love my Solos. J-pipes make tuning the amount of droan possible. I prefer none but love the roar when you nail it.

That was my first thought.
Cruising down the interstate with the cruise set on 75 is pleasant in my car. Listening to music or talking is not a problem. Corsa is, no drone. But when I push on the gas pedal and get on it, that's a different story.
