Aloha from Hawaii!
Hello Everyone!
I'm in the market for a good American performance car and have checked out the other marques...Ford/Dodge. However, after reading the write up from Dragoneye, on his experience driving a ZL1 at VIR, I'm almost ready to pull the trigger and order one. I hope to learn a lot here, and to contribute as well as I experience the thrill of driving a ZL1. Aloha! |

This place is full of a lot of great information and I can't even imagine how much more money a dealership would mark up a ZL1 to get it out there to Hawaii.
Welcome! |

OVRKLL, Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in them...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wive's, husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.
oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!!

Thanks guys!
Yup the mark up out is is nuts, but I never do pay it. I'd rather purchase a vehicle on the mainland and have it shipped over for about $1,500...I'll still be saving as mark ups are around $7k - $10k depending on the vehicle. Looking forward to negotiations...hehehe! |

OP.... I have called every dealership in Hawaii to try and find an allocation, unfortunately there are non that I can find. If you really want a ZL1 you will more than likely have to wait until next year or two years from now. The mark ups on the ZL1 once they hit the island will be in the $10 to $15 thousand mark. If you decide to buy an SS instead PM me and I can tell you the dealerships to stay away from and assist you in getting as good of a deal as possible.
Good luck and welcome to Camaro 5.
