It's not 650 but it's probably more than 495.

Just playing around with some online calculators and at a weight of 3580 lbs and horsepower of 495, they all show around an 11.0 ET and 121 trap speed.

Come on Chevy! give us at least that motor for a new Z/28 ands dump the SS 1LE!! Forget the DOHC V8, too complcated, expensive and big. And give us both port and DI injection. Screaming small block Chevy OHV engines are so much fun. Get them while you can. And let the Camaro go into the sunset with an LT5 in the ZL1. A proper ending to the Camaro story.

A new Z/28? No way, if it’s a stripped, overpriced, track-focused car like the last one with a value that drops like a rock within a year of its release. (Or never sells - my dealer had 13 on the lot, priced as low as $20K off MSRP, and they still wouldn’t sell.)
As far as the SS 1LE, it’s the best-handling, best-balanced, best-value Camaro that exists today. It’s the Camaro model that should have been named the Z/28, in line with the performance and value principles of the original 1967 Z/28. |

My car went 11.2 @ 122 mph at full weight for a 2SS so 3685 and I weight 175 putting it at 3860 and it put down 492 rwhp.

So add the LT2 as an option to the SS1LE along with ZL1/LE suspension and aero call it the Z/28. I strongly disagree that the SS 1LE is the best value. The base SS is a great track car also so it is a better value to track. Of course the SS 1LE is faster on a track if you know what you are doing. I am not knocking the SS 1LE it is a great Camaro. If you track and don't mind spending $7K extra. IT is not nearly as focused as that last Z/28 was however. And for the price of a 2SS 1LE you can buy a very lightly used ZL1. Who wouldn't prefer that? And it has already taken its biggest depreciation hit. Just talking value here. Of course the very best V8 Camaro value now is clearly the LT1/LT1. All its missing from the SS is track cooling and rear Brembos. Most of the other things missing is mostly fluff. But if you are a tracker you should get at least the SS.

I vote to ban this line from all automotive boards. It's the most ridiculous reoccurring nonsensical argument ever.
You can buy a used gran sport, or Z06, or porsche, or whatever. It's never a valid argument. You can almost always buy something used that was more expensive when retailed.

Those curves are not normal and the results are not normal. In fact nothing about it is normal except the hp and torque crossing at 5252. The author was clueless and the editors are idiots for publishing obviously bad information.
