Bringing this thread back from the dead, I'm definitely thinking in doing h018871 drain plug mod. My question is what are the new part numbers for the ZLE pan and tube. Also is the filter the same?

Wasn't sure if that was the correct new pan and if it came with the correct ZLE stand tube. Also I read that the 2020 ZLE and ZL1 have the same pan just a shorter tube.

same filter but different pans due to the different length stand off tube. The ZLE uses a different pan compared to a standard ZL1 as per the post. He confirmed the part numbers through the GM database. The ZLE part number pan is valid and available.

My man just wanted to triple check didn't want to drop my pan and find out the stand tube is the same. Plus I have to send it out to get a bung welded-in so I can put a plug.

The reason for the shorter tube in the ZLE pan is to reduce the amount of fluid in the pan, to reduce sloshing in corners. Which as per GM, increases heat of the fluid, I don't know why but I accept their statement. Why would a person go the other way by adding more fluid in the sump? As an aside, I don't believe the 10L80 pan on the PML site will fit on a ZL1/ZLE transmission (10L90).
