This just goes to show how good the Gen6 1LE really is considering the age of the platform. Thomas has really liked the way the 1LE performs for years. And it's nice to see that the 1LE is still a better track car than the new (or at least updated) Mustang.

Years ago car & driver called ss1le a super car in disguise. Guess some people are just realizing that.

Thomas said getting in the SS 1LE after the Mustang was like going from a pickup truck to a Porsche. Hilarious.

I love Throttle House, they are my replacement to classic BBC Top Gear. They have done several videos on Camaro vs Mustang over the past 6 years, Camaro always wins, simply because the chassis and steering are so much better.
https://www.thethrottlehouse.com/lea...d-track-times/ The Camaro is in some pretty good company on their home track.

Just watched that and 100% keeping the Camaro. It really does feel like Ford focused on getting younger buyers who are "boy racers" rather than people who really want to drive a car on a track or back mountain road. If you want to go fast in a straight line and impress your friends, I get it, the mustang makes sense. But you have to mod them so much just to make it close to a 1LE on a track, and the higher MSRP just doesn't make sense from a performance standpoint when you compare the two.
Good job Ford, but better luck next time.

Obviously prefer the 1LE.
And I would never purchase a first-year Ford product. But kudos to Ford for keeping the muscle car alive, even if it's just for a little bit longer.

Part of the reason I bought my car was one of their reviews and a friend of mine that turned my eye to the Camaro. Otherwise I would be driving a BMW M2, looking back on it the Camaro is exactly what I was looking for and I would have been disappointed with an M2 at the track.
Not to mention I would have paid more for a slower car that needed upgrades to be suited for the track. |

I haven’t even finished watching it yet but I loved when James said the Camaro is going out with a whimper which is what we’ve all been saying. The way Chevy is letting the Camaro go out should be illegal.

I guess a new Mustang is actually not an upgrade over the Camaro lol. Good to know shows how brilliant GM designed the car. I agree with James it is very sad it is going out on a whimper. Makes me wish it was the Mustang going way and the Camaro staying around for another generation. The Camaro is such an amazing car and I glad I have one makes me want to take my car out on the twisties right now.
