In other words, black tips come with the cam package for free (...well, at least black on the inside, but that's not too shabby either)

Exhaust particulate is a sign of incomplete combustion. Carbon atoms left free to bind to themselves (Cx formation occurs in conditions of lax proximity to Oxygen or not reaching significant enthalpy levels to attain CO or CO2 bonding) in sufficient quantities to leave deposits.

The greater the deposits, the more incomplete the combustion process.

Duration overlap of the exhaust to intake cycle can certainly play a role, in induction mixed engines, but in DI motors that simply is not the case. The fuel mixture is not present for pre closed-chamber ignition (valve duration overlap, I.E. IVO/EVC) as it’s only injected when the chamber is closed in the compression cycle (as I understand it).

Thusly, then, incomplete combustion is occurring at the phase of combustion itself, or on a phase of EVO (More than likely most definitely a proximity or enthalpy issue). Either way exhaust particulate is being formed during, or post combustion phase, perhaps as a cyclical deficiency of the combustion process & EVO timing. Given what I understand of EVO timing, in relation to piston timing, I’d lean to suspect the combustion process itself.

Just some food for thought.

Last night I think I found a set of replacement tips to order, they are close enough to stock that it's worth the gamble to purchase around $130ish for set of 4. Just need to decide if I want gloss or matte finish.

This weekend I will do a little more digging for other styles, just for kicks. I'll install them at the same time I delete secondary cats

Some sweet carbon fiber tips from China sitting inside the OEM tips in pics, hence the crookedness, lol. New ones easily appear larger, but OD is within 1/8". Tips are short enough that the NPP should remain untouched.

Anvil Notch spoiler. Normally not an aftermarket spoiler guy, but this one I liked for some reason.

It looks good to me and not so over the top.

I'm looking at the street fight spoiler but their revised version is taller and much more aggressive. Not sure how I feel about that.

Still waiting on the car so I've got some time to think it over. I like yours though as well.

Coincidentally I feel this one is a little too tall and aggressive. I love it at most angles but couple are meh on an otherwise stock car. I believe once I put my springs on and some less busy wheels, it'll all come together.

Compared to the street fighter, it looks way less aggressive.

I can't wait to see your ride when you get it all done.
