Hello fellow ZL1 owners. I am ashamed to admit this, but if it helps another honest member not get scammed than so be it.

A member going by the user name "Mazz" is posting some ZL1 OEM rims and tires in the Members Classified. This is his second post/attempt at scamming.
The guys said his name is Brian Ochoa. Could also be someone else involved going by the name Don Williams.

Thankfully i am protected by having used PayPal credit and insisting on a "vendor invoice".

He's just another one of the 99% of low to average income in debt due to the past decade recession therefore he's looking for some extra income to help support his whoopsadaisy kids

mine had black anodized valve stem caps, i don't think those ones do. Hard to tell. That dude probably doesn't even have those wheels though. Probably copied the photo from another post and is trying to get people to paypal him.

Each wheel should have a serial number on the back.

For example, here is a serial number engraved on the inside lip of the rim on one of my 5th gen ZL1 rims.

The technicians at my work told me they can scan the TPMS if not removed & will display the Vin number that was assigned to the wheel. Unfortunately you need GM dealership scanner. Auto theft detectives have access to them.

an auto theft detective is supposed to actually look into wheel theft? LAPD never even called me after filing a police report

Yes they do. The theft task force goes through LASD. Ideally I think you would have to start with a report then it would go up the chain. If there is a suspect & a previous report filed a report which the poor ZL1 owner did when he got his car put up on blocks & wheels stolen.


This is a lot of $. Easily solvable crimes are investigated. Need more than a link to a post.


If you find out these are indeed your wheels you’re good to go

805 is a big area . I had 805 living in Paso Robles/San Luis Obispo too.
