What bolt ons should I get for my '19 ZL1 1LE

Hey guys, just took delivery of my 19 ZL1 1LE. First thing I want to do is obviously the CAI, and an X pipe. Which X pipe is everyone using? I want to eliminate the back two cats. How about a shifter, is anyone changing their shifter? I put a MGW in my Z06, it made a big difference.

I am in the same boat as you but so far my main task is getting new tires put on (I have the 2 back Hankook tires and waiting on the fronts) and I have been thinking about a cat back system either AWE or MBRP, I had AWE on my 17 1SS and loved it, there are so many things that I want to do.

Don't do a darn thing. Over 2M miles of factory testing in the greatest "non vette" front engine car the world has ever seen. Why even try to mess with it. Incremental gains at best.

Agree with above reply and MGW doesn’t offer a shifter for the 6gen Camaro!

ZL1’s and 1LE’s already have an upgraded shifter. A Roto-Fab and a ported throttle body is a good start. As far as a secondary cat delete x-pipe, Corsa is the only game in town currently. You could get an AWE catback with performance link pipes that would do that and give you a good sound at the same time if you wanted to go that way. Good luck!

MGW doesn't make shifters for these cars, but I highly recommend the Hurst. It reminds me of the MGW shifters for the gen 5 camaros.

While it is true the ZLE comes with an "upgraded" shifter from the factory, the Hurst would still be a huge improvement over it. IIRC the factory short throw is only like a 7% reduction (over non short throw) while the Hurst is something like 40%.

"Just took delivery" is too soon to be guessing like that, and a CAI that's worth anything is going to involve a custom tune (warranty issues).

Just drive it a while and let it tell you what it's already pretty darn good at and doesn't need "fixing". And maybe where there might be a little room for improvement in how well it fits you.

I traded 2 bolt ons (Rotofab and ported tb) for 1: Magnuson 2650 and it’s pretty amazing.

I would recommend the AWE exhaust and a Hurst shifter. I put both of these and a big gulp CAI on mine and I wsa pleased with the results.

Enjoy it stock for a while, get used to it. I know the excitement of wanting to mod a new car, personalize it and make it “better.” Think about having a plan, throwing parts at a great car can ruin a great relationship. Spend some time on the tech categories on this site and see what mods are generally accepted, talk to some reputable shops that have actually modded LT4s.

Unless this car is mostly track driven I would go for a set of tires or, if it’s a double duty car, I would invest in a spare set of rims and rubber. One set street and one set track. Otherwise if you drive like myself, while you are debating with yourself about upgrades, you’ll burn a set of rears off during your debate.
