Tips for selling, trading my Camaro

So this is my wife’s car. She’s got a hip problem and wants something taller, and with 4 doors. Apart from availability and high price of new and used cars, are there any tips to get the most out of this Camaro should we decide to get rid of it? Or would the tips still be the same as normal? Givemethevin offered me $24k at the beginning of Aug.

Edit: wow right now kbb says trade is 25.8 and private sale is 27. These price trends are scary.

In general, offers from the online retailers have dipped a bit since the summer but they are still your best bet outside of a private sale. Beyond Vroom and Carvana, I would add in a visit to Carmax if you have one nearby, they've always given me strong offers over the years, and their buying process is really hassle-free.

If you're into speculation, and if you can afford to do it - buy the replacement now and sell the Camaro later. Used prices may be levelling off now, but with the concerns about a global shortage of aluminum alloys bad enough to shut down automakers completely, demand will drive used prices even further up. But that may take a few months to happen.

Was kinda curious about that. Traditionally they give chump change, but I was wondering if a “toy” car would be a higher value item than a family car in the current climate.

This time of year Dealers only want SUV's and Pickups. Toy cars will spend the winter on the lot till spring, and that's no use to them..

boss sold his ford escape to carvana 2 weeks ago. it was a '14 with 75k on the clock. price from them was 3k more than dealers he stopped at. process was hassle free and all-in he had 2 hours of his time invested in the total sale. showed up, took car away and had check in hand.

dealer will give more on some rigs but as mentioned, a camaro will likely garner more cash from online purchasers than local now.

it's all good to get a high price on the trade but used cars are selling for stupid pricing as well so though you may make out on selling the camaro, what you buy will be inflated as well. boss bought an '18 accord and paid 19k for a stripped rental car model and that was from his bro in law at a big dealer buying for "cost". was on the lot for 22.

Best offers I've seen personally was from dealers. We just bought another car and I had multiple managers making offers on my SS sitting in the parking lot. A couple made multiple offers better than what I've seen from the online options. I suspect that will depend on the specific dealer and their needs and Market.

What they were offering for my C8 was actually obscene.

Yowzer! I only have a v6, but it’s a top trim 2LT with RS. I’d be surprised if anyone went over 26. Think 32 is my “DEAL!!!” Price.

Does Florida allow for sales tax credit on a trade on vehicle? If they do, and you want to buy another car upon sale of yours, that’s probably the way to go. Hit the dealer with the Kelly Blue Book # of $25.8K + 6% tax credit = $27.3K. If no luck there…and like others have said, Vroom gives a decent $, but the communication and pick up after the paperwork is done is a bit of a PIA. If you can tolerate that, then they’re a decent alternative to a dealer.

If a dealer tells you that they give you “less” for your trade, because you get a tax credit going to a them, walk away. That’s an old crappy tactic that doesn’t hold water…

I’m aware of tax stuff and cars, but know nothing about it. I know that the buyer is responsible to pay sales tax if that’s related. I sold to GMTV before. Communication wasn’t too bad, but I signed the title and everything and sent it to them BEFORE I got a check. A little sketchy, but everything went smoothly.
