Yes, there's run-to-run variation, but I don't think A10 vs M6 explains a 70whp gap.

Cadillac also noted a 10.30 @ 129 1/4 mile time. That trap is...high for a stock LT4.
10.30? Lol. Where?

Every test I've seen was 11.3-4 or so in the 1/4 and 3.4-3.7 0-60. Curb weight is 4142lbs for the auto. ZL1 auto curb weight is 3907lbs (almost 250lbs difference, not bad).

Seems pretty close as expected to the ZL1.

I haven’t seen any magazine tests, but Cadillac itself says 10.30: https://media.cadillac.com/media/us/...blackwing.html

It says 11.3 @ 129 mph.

GM quotes 11.4 @ 127 mph for the ZL1 auto.

The +2 mph higher trap speed despite being heavier and only 18 more hp is likely because the CT5 has a lower drag coefficient than the ZL1, allowing it to accelerate slightly quicker at >100 mph. Which could also explain the top speed discrepancy: ZL1 is 198 mph (officially w/ two way average), while GM quotes 200+ mph for the CT5 V BW.

This is exactly within the realm of a 17hp gain and any small track variance at the time of testing. I think we can put the conspiracy theories to rest now that the Blackwing isn't making more power than what's advertised.

Dyno numbers aren't conspiracy theories. I'm looking to seeing more numbers - I prefer to look at the mean of say 8 different cars. How the manufacturers rate their cars varies. Again, the new M3 Comp is putting down very close to BMW's claimed number (from a 3 L motor no less). I wish more manufacturers would do this (i.e. advertise what the car actually puts to the wheels)

That M3 won't last so it doesn't really matter. There's no getting around the fact that to push a 3L engine to make the power that a 6.2L engine makes, you've got to really push that engine very hard. BMW isn't known for reliability. GM's advertised numbers are what you can expect, dyno's vary so wildly I don't even know why people are trying to create conspiracy theories from them. GM provides the specs and you can take it to the bank, they're accurate.

I don't think anyone is making conspiracy theories but the one Dyno video the numbers are obviously boosted to hell and it's intentional because it's driving views/clicks on the video and boosting the channel. Big sexy numbers sell lol.

I don't disagree but some members here are speculating based on that clickbait video that GM is possibly underrating the Blackwing.

Since standardization of HP testing and certifications, "under rating" is a thing of the past. People speculated the same about Hellcats being "under rated" and it never turned out to be true. There are always happy dynos and perhaps even some factory freaks but if an engine is certified 668 HP, that means that it truly is 668 HP after averaging.

Throttle House put out a great review to youtube today. This is a very nice sedan, and IMO, along with the new Escalade, the only interesting new cars/trucks GM has at this point.
