Exclamation Suggestion for the Chevrolet Performance Catalog

Guys,

As someone who tracks his car, I think the weakest link are the stock Recaro seats. Don't get me wrong - it's great for 95% of the driving I do but on the track - it just falls apart.

I was wondering if anyone here had a hookup or a contact at Chevrolet Performance that could consider a series of Racing/Light weight bucket seats that would be substantially lighter and functionally superb that would crucially also plug into our stock modules with no airbag lights.

Just a thought as this would present a strong business case for Chevrolet by catering to the enthusiasts and their wallets.

They won't put any investment into anything like that, unfortunately.

It's not going to happen. Chevrolet wants us all to just go away, and drink the EV Kool-aid.

It won't happen because they'd have to crash test and certify the car with the extra seat option.

And don’t forget about the politicians too! The current administration.

The Recaro’s in my 370Z Nismo are far superior for hard driving. The Nissan seats lock you in place with aggressive bolstering that feels secure in twisties. By comparison the seats in the Camaro are made for bigger bodies and are sloppier. They’ve got to weigh twice as much (have to look that up).

Don’t get me wrong, the Camaro Recaro’s are definitely an upgrade from the SS leather seats, I slid all over the place in those things.

Just my $0.02.

You must be a smaller guy. I'm 6' 230lbs, athletic build, and wouldn't want my ZL1 seats to be any tighter. They fit me quite snug already. I've sat in the new GT500 and those Recaro's don't work at all for my build, I feel like I'm being constricted by an Anaconda. I suppose it comes down to your physical size as to what you consider "sloppy".

Seats are on the bigger side for my size, about 175lbs 5'10" . Wish they had the side bolster adjustments like the m3 seats but I make due by pushing myself against the seat using my left foot pushing on the foot rest locking me in place. Definitely interested in a race seat in the future tho with slots for a 5 point harness
