Just curious what AFR your tuners are trying to get on these Direct Injected motors while running e85 type gas? 12.9?

Is it realistic to think these cars can do E85 without a cam with a higher flowing fuel lobe?

I usually shoot for around a 12.0-12.2 on a standard gas scale. Ethanol based fuels like to run a bit richer seeing as how oxygen is ~30% of it's makeup, so let it eat.

Even on DI motors? I was led to believe they like it leaner.

They do. Even my 991 Porsche from the factory was high 12's and then with Cobb software was low 13's also a DFI car.

They do, if it wasn't a DI motor I would be running low 11s on ethanol. Leaning out ethanol is unnecessary and you can actually give up some power and torque by doing that. Remember E85 is ~30% oxygen and getting more in the chamber will not hurt power at all.
