If you don't want that level of tuning and speaker attenuation, you can just bypass the fix82, and install the pac unit. You wont have to worry about all of those speaker wires going to the Fix 88, as the Pac unit will link directly with the headunit, and you can run low level (RCA) output, high level output, or Toslink directly to your amplifiers (if you have digital amplifiers that accept optical input)
Understood, and that may be something I will end up doing. But since it involves taking the dash apart and running wires from the front of the car t o the trunk, I want to try at least get it to work with the current setup. But your point is well taken and I thank you for your help.

I assume you have seen my thread of installing the PAC. It's not as bad as it looks. Running the RCA cords is a piece of cake. You just tuck them under the plastic panels, under the back seat and into the trunk.

@KirkH, yes, thank you it will certainly be helpful once I get to it.

update on Fix82, something apparently went wrong on my initial firmware upgrade. As soon as I reinstalled new firmware everything went back to normal. With tweaking crossover frequency on the amp and playing with the equalizer on Fix82 it already sounds 100 times better. But I am seriously considering takingthe route recommended here and installing PAC.

Question, I have eight input going to Fix82, I see only six speakers in the car. So what are these eight inputs? Is the only way to identify them by color coding of the input wires.

Thank you.

OK, I believe if you have a coupe (not convertible) with Bose, you should have 9 speakers. Three 2.5" in the dash, two 6x9" in the doors, two 5.25" in the rear quarter panels, and 2 x 6x9" in the rear shelf

The 8 wires going into the Fix82 are likely (repeat likely) simple front left, front right, rear left, and rear right.

They likely pulled signals from output wires leaving the factory amplifier going to the speakers. Those are the time delayed, attenuated, EQ-d signals.
