I called whipple and they said the new pump they use is a bit more of a pain than the old Bosch one that they used to use. It has some chip inside that stops it from turning if senses no load after a few seconds. So air pockets are harder to eliminate. I’m hoping that a few more cycles of purging and burping get it to work as it should.

The pump is at the very bottom of the system. If you’ve filled it according to their directions, it’s going to be nearly impossible to have an air bubble in the intercooler system big enough to shut the pump down.

If youre doing track time, why not go with a centrifugal and air to air ic?

Umm, so I’m an idiot. Turns out I just didn’t seat the plug for the pump all the way. I had a new pump ready in case but thankfully I tried wiggling the plug and it clicked into place and voila! Of course it took a lot to just get access to it but at last it was an easy fix.

Tune appt for next Friday! So we’ll see what she does!

Don't beat yourself up, that pump harness is too short IMO. My installer actually fabbed up a slightly longer harness because he was not impressed with the one that came with it.

Agree, it is a bit short. I mounted the pump as high as I could in the mount to minimize any stress on the wiring harness. All good now though. Hoping for a smooth tune experience!

Separate and superfluous topic... did any of you install the "whipple supercharged" badge they included? I took off the camaro badges on the front fenders so I'm considering putting them there. They're kinda long and perhaps a little obnoxious and I tend to like the sleeper look so I'm leaning towards not putting them on at all. But at the same time, the black matches the black of the 1LE package and it does make it a bit unique. I guess I can always take them off if I don't like them later. Other ideas for placement?

Put the badges on today. Looks ok if a bit much. Will keep them for now at least.

Why not just 'SUPERCHARGED'?

Those badges flipped your car upside down! No way am I putting them on mine :p

I have toyed with putting them on the hood along the "power bulge" lines.

Too much with the badges... just "supercharged" would be much better. I prefer the sleeper approach myself.

Not sure why the images flipped. Oh well.

In other news, the dealer refused to check out a suspension system service message because of the supercharger. I don’t see why... the systems are unrelated. I may try another dealer as this one has not been good for me in many ways. Anyone have any suggestions or insight to offer either with the dealer or the message? It’s unclear what is actually wrong. My guess is maybe the alignment guys knocked a wire loose but I didn’t see anything out of place when I checked it out myself.

Is it persistent or sporadic?
