Well I figured you weren't Shooter McGavin but were hoping you could let us know what the profession "shooter" is. Maybe I shouldn't ask but I'm curious.

I view online privacy like a lock, there is no lock that will stop every thief, but a basic lock is enough to stop maybe 95% or more. Same with online security, most thieves will probably scrub for easy prey, so posting things like full name, full birthday, licence plates (if your state doesn't have protections in place for that sort of thing), home address, face, and so on, but add that one step between that info and it will deter almost all, unless they're specifically targeting you and at that point they'll get the info regardless, like a dedicated thief getting through a lock.

I shoot competitively (as in guns). Given how some view shooting sports it's a topic that can get me in trouble pretty quickly.

LOL. Not me. I'm a pacifist as much as life will let me be.

Interesting and not something I even knew was a profession.
Also glad you don't have to kill me now.

It can be a profession. You need to be sponsored or competing can be prohibitively expensive. Round counts can reach 100,000 a year or more and ammo isn't cheap even if you reload.

If you're sponsored you're often also a brand rep, attend trade shows, teach classes, things like that. Also many events have prize purses similar to golf, but much less money.

I'm glad I don't have to kill you now either. I've never shot anyone and I would prefer to keep it that way.
