But at the same time they have to increase performance, update materials, add modern features like ACC and still nail the price to $40k-$50k for full equipped 2SS models when your 3s midengine monster awaits unter $60k (and the 1LT Corvette already offers a lot of nice features). I defenitely see room for offering a new frontengine Camaro starting at $35k in the future, but the C8 would definitely ruin the market for any further ZL1 models. They basically ruin the market for every other sportscar that starts around $60k.

I'd be cool with another Fiero, but the camaro can stay as is for me.

How big is the Trunk in the front of a Camaro now?

I don't know why this thread caught me. The mid-engine idea is good in spots. I liked the Fiero then. Buick could use an exciting model for whatever their orange car is.
I hate the idea of the Camaro tracking (no pun) too close to the Corvette. The Vette is just a different animal. I hope they will see good breathing room for the Camaro: keep the manuals, add awd, keep lower tech/cost available, make Z28 & LT5 trims. If they give a 7th gen a go: last sentence stands, use a C5/6/7 rear trans, save costs in spots (rear leaf spring, stamped control arms, etc.), cleaner styling keeping a nimble size, less racecar driving position, better trunk lid, platform mate sporty SUVs (Chevy & GMC). |

IMHO a mid-engine Camaro will only be accused of being a C8 copycat wannabe. The Gen7 will have to be something else.

Mid Engine Camaro Spotting??
I was watching the movie Free Guy, which is loaded with GM products. I noticed in the last scene what looks like a Camaro with 5th gen styling, but wider and shorter dimensions. I am wondering if this catches anyone else's eye.

This simple post shows the Corvette envy that has always been a part of the Camaro community.
Giddy everyone was when the Camaro got Corvette engines. That being said, does GM need 2 mid engine cars? Now that Corvette sales are where GM thinks they should be and they are going global do you think for a half second they would use the C8 architecture and do a cheaper version? GM would give people an opportunity to pay LESS for a mid engine car? Or give one more half second and think would GM take a car that's sales are tanking to the point there is no rumor of a Gen7 and go spend the money on a completely new architecture for a mid engine Camaro? At one point you might have seen a Cadillac off of the C8 architecture, but with Cadillac pretty much going all in on EVs you will only see an electric version. Sorry to be the fun governor on this one but NGH, Not Gonna Happen

I'd by a C7 before I'd by a C8, so that tells you what I think about a mid engine Camaro. If I wanted an Italian sports car, I'd buy one.

I wouldn't mind an AWD ZLE if we're dreaming.
