Difference between pre-facelift and post-facelift models

Hello again!

To be honest, i never found a comprehensive list of changes from model year to model year, and especially from pre face lifted to facelift models...besides the obvious changes like body styles and exterior redesigns.

One thing i heard was, that the 4 auxiliary gauges in the speedo can be changed from MY20 on up...but that knowledge is only based on another forum post I read.

Maybe we can curate a list of all the changes based on model years?

Greetings from Germany!

To the best of my knowledge, the changes in features have been mostly minor...

MY2019 was the last to offer HD Radio
MY2021 was the first to offer wireless Android Auto / Apple Carplay

A bigger change:
MY2019 was the first to offer the A10 (A8 was last seen in 2018)

If you really wanted the specifics, you'd probably need to compile the list yourself by going through the various model year catalogs.

Are the cluster gauge options mainly based on trim and not year? My 2017 2SS has the digital gauge cluster that had additional gauge options in performance mode display.

I -believe- that the different gauge cluster options were/are tied to trim level and not really different one year to the next.

Agree on the cluster gauge being tied to trim. 3LT/2SS for sure have the up-level cluster. I'm unsure if it is there on 2LT/1SS or not.

I believe the LS, 1LT, and LT1 have the base cluster with less options/configurability.

Even that is a bit complicated, turbo I4 cars came with the A8 even in 2020, the transition was very lengthy. Another "nice" touch is the use of the same MX0 option code for all automatic transmissions, from 8L45 through 8L90 and 10L80 to 10L90...

I am not aware of a precompiled, comprehensive list of changes either, and coming up with it based on 160-170-page model year order books and distribution update documents would be a ton of work.

True story.

I wasn't 100% sure that it was "completely gone" by 2019... Now I know!
