Android auto won't work, help!

Hey so my 2016 i4 turbo camaro has a 7 inch screen. But android auto might work 1/10th of the time. I've tried doing many things to fix it. These include getting android auto on my car flash updated twice, getting a completely different infotainment center, trying different type c data cords, replacement of the usb box, new battery, i tried 4 android phones, resetting the infotainment system, relinking android auto, factory reset on the phone, amd a chevy dealership dod diagnostics and said it needed flashed. Didn't help. Bluetooth usually works but i would like android auto to work. It half the time says plugged in device is not compatible. Other half of the time says switch to android auto but it does nothing to click it. Im very annoyed but i love this car. I just want the screen to work. What do i do?

I know in the Mazda's I drive the Android Auto only works with the stock cables from Samsung. Aftermarket cables never work. I honestly never knew it had AA til I plugged it in w/ a Samsung cable and was like wtf is this screen!?

Make sure you do not use a split cable (the kind with multiple ends) as I had very bad luck with those
