Ugh. His 'inside sources' are getting worse and worse...

Take 10 seconds to look at the LT2. It's a dry sump. It breathes 'backwards'. Would not be a quick drop in. It also uses the Group B ECU, and no way is that coming to the Camaro.

And Camaro is hardly the only vehicle that uses the LT1. It's in the Silverado, the vans, etc.

Call it what you will. Hype machine. Click bait. Space filler. These kinds of videos he does are low effort affairs that keep the channel relevant between the usual videos. SEMA just happened last week. If GM were serious about any of this they would have announced something then, or at least dropped some hints about it over the course of that weekend.

You'd think people would realize the BS and stop giving it views eventually

Having done some research on the LT2, it is totally unfit for a front engine layout without major modification.

LT2 is significantly taller from the intake and up, which is fine in the C8, but they would have to use a raised hood to allow the engine to fit the bay properly in a 6th gen. The intake manifold is completely reversed. The ignition coils are also located below the exhaust manifolds rather than on top like the LT1, which means the headers are located high above the valve covers which wouldn’t fit whatsoever in a 6th gen. Not to mention that the LT2 was designed to be paired with the 8 speed DCT, not the TR6060 or the 10 speed. It’s not as simple as just bolting the 2 together, there’s some major tuning that would have to take place on the backend.

The LT2 was literally built around a mid engine layout, if they do this they’ll need to completely redesign a large portion of the external components of engine. Just doesn’t make much sense considering it’ll only be used for 2 model years before inevitably killing off the car for good.

Only way I can see this taking place is if they had planned this from the inception of the LT2 and have already done all of the R&D in the background over the past few years, this is most certainly not a simple engine swap.

All good points, but it has been said in a GMA article that the final year of the Camaro6 will have a "farewell" package, so never know what they have up their sleeve.

I feel @BundiMan probably has the best inside information as his neighbor works at the plant. I'm assuming some machines would have to be reprogrammed on the line for a fit like this.

I certainly wouldn't place any bets on anything GMA says either. They mixed up the different plants with "Lansing" in their names the other day...

Doubt it will happen. EPA certs are needed, new parts for the Camaro vs. the 'vette, and the trucks are using the LT1 blocks, etc.

Why would gm (not GM) dump that much effort into a platform they are going to kill?

The insiders from bigger magazines who said it will get a final stickerpackage and a slight upgrade for the ZL1 since they already have the engine upgrades in the CT5-V Blackwing is much more plausible.

GM would have to invest multiple millions here to bring a high modified LT2 version to the already outdated alpha-1 platform for just a year or two? It just isn't trustworthy at all.

This. The click-bait BS that Lethal has been pushing for his last several videos is why I unsubscribed.

For GM to put an LT2 in the Camaro, you need to change the sump, the intake manifold, and the exhaust manifolds and hey, look, you are back to having an LT1 engine.

Hopefully they phase out the entire car, it's in dire need of a redesign/update and sales reflect that. Would love to see a good looking car with a 480+ hp base v8 and a 700+ hp flagship
