Clutch clicking

Hey guys, just noticed that when i depress my clutch within the first inch or two it clicks. I crawled beneath my dash and pushed it in with my hand to get a better idea of where the sound was coming from. Seems to be coming from inside of the sleeve leading into the engine area where the rod enters when depressed. Basically in front of the rubber boot towards the engine bay.. I've driven manual vehicles all my life and never had this happen. The clicking occurs when I push the clutch in and when I let it out. Started when I got it back from the dealer after a simple diagnostic test. Any ideas?? I just bought my 17 camaro ss less than a week ago with 19k miles.

Surely someone has to know what causes this.

A few years back I had a Beretta with a clicking clutch pedal and it was a cheap part and plastic bushing linking the pedal arm to the master pushrod. I remember thinking what a lousy design. If it is a similar situation and goes uncorrected, it could damage the pushrod from wear.

Hopefully it's nothing serious. The sound is still there but less prominent today. I have an appointment at the dealership on Monday.

Wrong forum.

From the sticky,

Ground Rules and Suggestions:

Avoid Troubleshooting Questions - The bottom line is that this exchange is not intended for general troubleshooting questions. There is a wealth of knowledge here on the forum. Odds are good that if you have an issue with your car, and you or your dealer/mechanic can’t figure it out: someone here has. Also, please remember that Al has been on the Camaro program since Gen 5; questions specific to Gen 4 and earlier may be something he wouldn’t be able to answer.
Questions like this will drive questions that might be selected for submittal to the team down off the first page which could skew the poll results.

I dont know what causes it, but I just greased every joint down there with some lithium grease, hasn't come back in over 10k miles.
