Yes, there are places to sell these online. But, I'm just too busy with the day job, 2 kids, 4 cars, 2 dogs, etc.

now what would be cool is if the holder surface was the bow tie and it fit into the case you built and was stable enough to hold it in place. maybe with a slot holder or a clip

Why not print it one piece? If you want to send me your CAD model I could print you a one piece unit And maybe one for myself haha.

I have an idea for a 1 piece design that will be much faster to print. Right now, its about 3 hours to print. This new idea I have will be around 1.5 hours to print and a smaller one piece. Then I can print them 6 at a time with less hassle for loading and unloading.

What kind of printer are you using? Also what type plastic? PLA will not withstand the summer heat inside the car.

Yes, I live in Phoenix. PLA won't handle the winter either. I use ABS exclusively. On a SeeMeCNC Delta Orion printer, with a 6.5" diameter heated bed.

I just got a Robo 3D R1+ a couple weeks ago. I had a cheap Micro 3D before and this new one is much nicer. It will print up to a 8"x9"x9" print and has a heated bed also.

Nice machine. I got a Micro3D for $200 from Kickstarter. Sent it to a friend though.

I'd buy it I was actually browsing online for a cup holder mounted phone holder, and thought it would be in the way when shifting, but having it come out of the lighter hole, that is ingenious!

I thought the Micro was great then decided I wanted something that printed larger items. After reading reviews I decided to get the Robo, but had not pulled the trigger until one day I got an email from Amazon where they had it on the deal of the day for $619.
