Congrats on the new car, but the GT500's are selling, just not to you.
In 2012 the situation was reversed and most Chevrolet dealers were tacking on $5-$10k to ZL1's. For 2014 some dealers are trying to mark up the GT500, especially since this will be the last year of the Shelby allegedly, but there are deals to be had. I picked up my '14 for $4000 off MSRP after going through several dealerships and am very happy with the car, just wish it had more traction lol. |

This is where the car manufacturers should put a stop to this. This is what turns people away from buying.

It is the dealers fault for not budging, but the buyer as well for being a sucker
I bought my '13 5.0 last year memorial weekend and they had a Black with black stripe GT500 for 87k. Fast forward to this year and they still HAD it, I think a sucker bought the car recently for the dealers asking price. They now have a silver with black stripe for 87k. Lol, a fool and his money... |

The GT500's aren't selling because they're being replaced by the new generation.. lol It'll happen to the Camaro as well next MY.

When I bought my SS, there was a ZL1 on the showroom floor. Right on the sticker, hand written in sharpie, was an 8000 dollar "dealer cost" addition to the sticker price.
That's some balls. But somebody bought it...

Actually it does because the GT350 will be replacing it for now. And like I said, it's the last year of a generation. It wi happen to the Camaro as well.

I never said it was a 2015 model dude. I said that it's not selling because it's the last MY of this generation of the Mustang. I don't know what other way to say that. But once again I'll add, the same thing will happen to the Camaro.

I don't think ppl that really want the 14 GT500 will take a GT350! Especially, since it will be the last Shelby! supposedly! So these will be a collectors car too!

Eh I'll believe that it's the "last" one when I see it. It could just be a marketing ploy. A few years down the road they could be like "Oh just kidding! It's back!" Huge sales boost.

A couple of clarifications on the GT500: this will be the last year of this body style and it's been rumored it will be the last one badged a "Shelby" since the passing of Carroll.
Ford owns the GT350 and GT500 nameplate but not the Shelby name. There will not be a GT350 or GT500 produced for '15. When the 350 comes out it will probably NOT be a supercharged car, but more likely a track oriented car like the Boss was. Something to compete with the 1LE offering. Last, as far as not selling, I disagree. They are moving quite briskly, especially when you consider the low volume of GT500's produced yearly. 2014 numbers haven't been released yet by SVT, but last year only 4834 were produced total coupes and convertibles.. The '13-'14 Trinity models are the most desirable of the GT500's. Add to that it'll be at least a year before a replacement is available, and some dealers are marking them up, or at least standing firm on MSRP. I got lucky and bought mine in April for $2000 off MSRP, and was happy with the deal. When I began my search in March there were few cars in Houston that weren't already sold/allocated.. While it's one of the largest cities in Texas there were only 8 total in the area. I almost bought one from a little bitty dealer outside of Dallas but they wanted to play pricing games. I was heavily searching Ebay when a salesman I had contacted early on in the Houston area called to let me know his dealership had picked up 7 of them from a distressed dealer in the midwest. They had just gotten them in and were still dirty from the transport. That same day I bought mine and they had just sold a white w/blue stripes model, and had taken a deposit on a black/black model. Including mine that's 3, in one day. For a higher end car, I'd say they're moving. I know they sold the white/blue at sticker. I got mine lower because I bargained and it was a straight forward deal: no trade in, agree to my price and I'll pay you. I went back several days later to pick up my cover and heard the black on black one sold for MSRP. The remaining four were all now cleaned up and had AMV stickers on them of $4995. Will they sell? Probably. |

True! And I think that it will be the same way for the ZL1's , when the 6th Gen comes out! Especially, because the 6th Gen will be drastically different from the 5th Gen ! Smaller and just a SS as a V8 Camaro! Ppl will definitely hurry up to pickup thus last 5th Gen!
