Edelbrock 2650 Install Question

When the intake manifold is removed, there is a large black foam insulator, underneath it, that gets removed. Does this need to be reinstalled when the supercharger goes back on?

There is nothing in the instructions that tell you to put this back on, so when I bolted up the supercharger, I didn't even think about it. Then, I saw it laying in the pile of parts I pulled off and kinda think it needs to go back on. Normally, I would just take off the supercharger and put it back, but those 8 little bolts took me a good 2-3 hours to install because there just isn't any room to get a wrench on them. So, I'm trying to understand if I need to spend the 4-6 hours to pull them back off and put them back in.

I bet it doesn't go back on, but would say that I doubt it would even fit because of how large the blower case has to be to fit the big rotors.

I think that's just to dampen the sound. I dont know that it solves any other purpose. Was thinking about removing mine the next time I have it apart. Would like to know more if it's just for sound, or serves some other purpose, like keeping those hp fuel lines warm or something.

Usually trim to fit it goes over it on the 2300 install but the 2650 is vague hell I didn't even get directions. If it was me ditch it and coat the bottom of the blower with a thermal blanket or radiant heat barrier material like FI advertises.

Agreed, Maggie's don't use them and I would think the Ebrock wouldn't either. Go for it
