Today, not so much...

I have run a Professional Pilot forum for the last 17+ years using the same concept, it has had less than 3 hours total down time in the entire 17 years, it is run on Enterprise grade web servers, there are no pop-up ads, no "sponsors", no spamming the forums everyday with ads, just good, solid reliable info for the membership... It runs the same software but a much newer version (vBulletin 4.2.5 vs this sites vBulletin 3.8.9 Beta 4) but would still be very easy to use and be very familiar to the current forum members...

I'd be open to create and run the site for Camaro Enthusiast that are willing to part with just $12/year to support the site ($1.00 per month), I just do not want to deal with the BS of advertisers and such...

If there is a large enough interested group, I'd be happy to do it, we could make it for all Gens of Camaros and have separate areas for each... I think it would be awesome for all Camaro owners, especially as the Camaro legend is coming to an end...

Let me know, if there is some decent interest, I'd be willing to put in the effort to create and maintain the site and I guarantee it would be FAR more reliable than this site (and much better moderated and maintained)...
I'd be all for this. $12/year is very reasonable!

This.

It's the only way. I'd pay $12 a year if that meant that we basically get this same site, with all the content, but just modernized and with very few or no ads.

But I'm not about to dump this site, and pay $12 to join a new startup site about a car that is on it's last leg.

From the beautiful CamaroGen5 pics to the knowledge and help you get is a nice change a pace from politics, work and all the other BS going on in life. Great people too!! Who knew I'd be speaking to friends on the phone from Florida, Pennsylvania and everywhere else, along with posts and private messages. Anyway, I noticed this issue about two weeks ago maybe. Hopefully the MODS can address this(along with that pop-up problem we had) and we don't have to worry about this site closing down.
Totally agreed here! I was at a loss with the forum being down for 2 days!! Not good. I would be beside myself if I couldn't be chatting Camaro stuff with all my friends out there, and making new ones! I sure hope that this website doesn't go away and that the "bots" aren't causing any issues, but you know how that goes. Anyway, glad it's back up AND I hope the owners of the website domain can figure out something to keep it protected. Like someone mentioned above, it would be a real shame to have ALL this wonderful info about our 5th gen Camaros just disappear!! Good to see you guys and gals again!!

Yep, 2 days straight.. Was a lost man without it. Glad it's back up, but seems to be kinda slow at times.

Yea, being retired and not being able to go fishing due to the crappy weather and the huge mass of sargassum seaweed we are dealing with, these forums ARE my entertainment for some of the day!! lol. Plus I like helping folks on here with info and mods.

That sucks bro - hate it when weather gets in the way - seaweed not good for props or jets for sure - fishing season is kicking off here in ak but doing my best to not get the fever . (It’s exhausting lol) I sold my boat few years back , as I love having a boat and the scenery that remote locations brang was unbelievable!! But as a boat captain , I could never truly relax cause our weather changes so quick . You could be sitting in 10knot 2ft swells and before you know it by 3pm you start seeing white caps coming and you’re in 4ft chop . Although it brang some excitement the fear of our cold waters is no joke ..

I won’t combat fish anymore for sure . Those days are over for me . It’s not my idea of fishing lol

Although what I truly miss tho : is getting some spot shrimp imho best shrimp I’ve ever ate .

Yea sir, hear ya on the boat thing. I have owned 4 boats in my past, and won't do it again. But have to say, having one as you say and seeing all the cool locations is a blast! And the fishing thing, I've fished here for all the 54 years I've lived here! Caught a ton of really cool fish, but the crowds of disrespectful people anymore just ruin it for me, and they trash my state park I work for. So I don't fish as much as I used to, can take it or leave it. Oh, and on the shrimp, if you like to eat they, try the Argentine Reds, they ARE very sweet, tender and great eating!! Those are by far the best, and only ones I eat now. A little pricey, but worth it!!

...The site does seem to be running faster perhaps...

I'm not interested in how the sausage is made. I think we're on a need-to-know basis and we don't need to know...lol.
