Yeah it sure looks like it. Not a bad truck for the price really. Way cheaper than a Silverado Custom Trail Boss. I just wish it had LED headlights. That's my only gripe with the TB.

I found an unclaimed Nitro Yellow Z71 incoming to a dealer about an hour from me, which is in the serial number range that puts it outside of hail possibilities. It is already on the train and halfway from Missouri to Connecticut. They said it should arrive next week! Only issue is it doesn't have the bedliner, red belts, floor liners, or HO tune, but is otherwise identical to the truck I ordered. Convenience Package II and the Trailering package. Nothing that a little $$ won't fix to make it exactly what I ordered, and certainly nothing that is going to stop me from jumping on it instead of waiting for my 4-month-old hail-ridden truck.

Put a deposit down, and test drove the Harvest Bronze LT they had on the lot.
I can't blame you. I think that's what a lot of the early order folks will be doing. At this point, the waiting has gotten ridiculous, and I realize much of that out is likely outside of GMs control (EPA certification hold up, shipping issues, hail damage) but it's just crazy. Sitting outside for months is one thing, but if I had that and one that was on the hail damage list, I think I'd just re-order at this point. It's likely faster.

Keep in mind, side steps from the 2nd gen will fit the 3rd gen, so there are a good amount of options out there.

Just a quick chime in on side-steps...I don't know all the details but my neighbor has a newer four door Silverado with side-steps that I believe are factory. Four of us usually car pool in his truck to go golfing. When we get in, he reminds us to only use the side-steps one guy at a time as they have broken on him in the past when two guys hop in at the same time.

Hopefully these side-steps are more heavy duty than that. Just something you might want to investigate. Thanks for listening. Enjoy your trucks!

New dealer won't accept Supplier pricing sadly, but will accept the educator/college grad discount (I could use either). My credit union let me extend my preapproval for 60 more days at my 3.49% so I should be pretty set.

Something bizarre about the assist steps:

2nd gen:

3rd gen:

Why do the 3rd gen brackets hang so much lower? I'm about to just order the set for the 2nd gen truck instead.

That's what I'd do if I didn't find anything better in the aftermarket. I have those on my 2nd gen. Height is good, plenty of step area, and solid.

They mount to the body so it's probably just that the 2nd gen mounting points are higher up than the 3rd gen.

The steps are different PNs though, so I am not sure if that explains it.

The steps themselves appear to be carryover, but the brackets for the 3rd gen are definitely longer, you can see it on the accessories site. Aftermarket companies have confirmed 2nd gen steps are compatible with the 3rd gen truck and there's no difference in the mounting points.

The only thing I can think of is because Canyon has the standard 2 inch lift and some of the Colorado models are factory lifted as well GM felt the need to hang the steps lower.
