Michelin pilot sport 4’s defect
Buyer beware!! Purchased a set of Michelin pilots about a year ago. These things might have 5k miles on them since I rarely drive the car. Pulled them off today to change the brakes and realized the inside tread is completely separating from the sidewall. So much that I’m genuinely concerned about a high speed blow out. Any of y’all out there that run these tires, check the insides for the separation, mine is separated so much that I can see the cords.
And before people start blaming me for this, the car is garage kept so no it’s not from cold weather. And I don’t autoX it either. I literally just drive it, there’s no reason why my front tires should look like this. Alignment is also good, I had it aligned right after I put the tires on. |

Here are the pictures. It’s around the entire inner portion of the tire. Not just tone spot.

I've been seeing some Michelin QC issues more than often lately.

I guess so. It’s sad because I really like Michelin tires and think they are far more superior to Bridgestone and Goodyear. But it’s dangerous to ride like these especially with that high of a speed rating
