OUCH!

So a 21 year old decided to come at me from the side with the front of his truck... Anyways it's at a autobody shop so they can figure out what needs replaced. I've had it for two years, just started driving it three weeks ago and this happens 🤦

Also the tow truck driver did not use my tow hook and pulled the front bumper breaking clips and breaking the lower Grille🤦

Here's the damage the tow truck driver did to the front end.

Well, the 21-year old is to be completely forgiven: obviously he had received a very, very important phone call, text, or TikTok to give his attention to, and you were in the way. (What were you thinking?)

The tow truck guy, though -- that's ridiculous. Lemme guess, he was saying, "nah, nah, I know what I'm doing"? Reeking of pot all the while?

You literally hit the nail on the head with the tow truck guy, however the 21 yo was drunk, he was drinking at my place of employment and we closed so he wanted to go to the next bar and ended up hitting me after I got out of a long shift at work and was heading home. I was lucky enough to have four cameras recording when he hit me.

In the past back in 2018 I was keyed and then in the same week, a 20's something YO rear-ended me. He was smoking pot in LA Traffic. Trust me I feel your pain.

I hate to see a Camaro or any awesome car be garage queens but it's because of this is why some owners choose to do so.

Yeah if I didn't have soo much invested in it, I would of had it totaled but I keep telling them to save it.

AN UPDATE

It's now June and this car accident happened in March. As of writing the car has not been worked on or even inspected other than the simple look over from an adjuster. The adjuster has a new quarter panel, new rim and repairs to parts of the rear bumper and we'll as the front bumper. The only thing new on the car will be the quarter panel. The rim is a refurb from a company in Miami I believe. Is is unreasonable to be in a rental car for over three months while nothing has been done on the car? I'm in a aort of Florida where a hurricane destroyed alot of stuff so the body shops are backed up. I'm currently having someone write a Diminished Value report so I can be compensated.

The adjuster has the repairs at $4,400 for a new quarter panel, refurbished rim, repairs to part of the back bumper and another $1,000 for repairs and repaint of the front bumper.

Here are the two estimation totals, the lower amount is for the bumper and the higher amount is for the body work/quarter panel

wow the time its taking is ridiculous. Has your insurance carrier got you in a paid rental car?

I think for a tow driver that's inexcusable.

I've been in a rental since March, I don't even remember what my car looks like anymore. The insurance had to use my own policy for the tow truck drivers damage and so I have to pay $500 out of pocket because they said the tow truck company wouldn't give them their insurance information. I said hell no I'm not using my own policy, I didn't do the damage. So they said they would sue the tow truck company to get my deductible back. This whole things been a migraine🤦

Apart from the Diminished Value, is there anything else I should be going after from the insurance company. A week before being hit I spent $200 on a oil change and an alignment and it seems like that was a HUGE waste of money and two weeks before being hit I spit $1300 on new tires which have been sitting I'm assuming stationary for the last three months which is probably not good. Just any advice would be great, thanks!

I don't know if it's different in my state in Arizona but as far as I know they should be replacing everything with new parts so I don't know about that refurbed Rim you might ask about that
