So a piece of my car just fell off

Not sure, I'm assuming this is suspension?

lol yes, I'm the telephony guy at the university.

UPDATE: Turns out (-$256 later) that this was not from my car. When I ran over it it must have made contact with my exhaust to make me believe it was mine.

Still the best possible outcome at this point, if this were from one of your springs, you'd be waaay deeper into the hole
