Can't find lighting app on my 8" Mylink

Hello guys i just bought a 2017 camaro 2SS from korea and i realised that i dont have lighting app on mylink so i cant change the color on the lights unless i change the drive mode so Anyone knows how can i fix this? Name: 5c9f8705-c981-425c-bf90-ac7685757b5b.jpg

Congrats on your purchase...

You should find it in the Vehicle Settings Menu under Lighting - IF your vehicle was equipped with the optional Ambient Lighting in the door panels and maybe the foot well...otherwise you will just have the whitish trim around the radio.

I don't have lighting on my setting menu even though my vehicle is equipped with the optional Ambient Lighting in the door panels as you can see in the pictures below and there're only 3 colors that i can change by changing the drive mode from tour to sport to track.

It's the first time I see a 2SS without this feature... and not just that, you should have many more icons, my screen has 3 pages' worth of them, as you can see below (I dragged ambient lighting over to page 2).

You probably need a software update for the infotainment (MyLink), is there a GM dealer nearby that you can try?

hmm yeah maybe it needs an update, Yeah there is one 10 mile away from my place so im gonna go there tomorrow to see what is the problem.

Looks like that you have the GM accessories ambient lighting kit which can only be changed with the mode selector. That kit gets installed at the dealer or after owner purchases the kit. It does not interact with the HMI module where the user can manually change the colors.

Either that or the HMI module was replaced at some point and the incorrect one was installed. You can't just install the color selector on an HMI without sending it out to an aftermarket modding company like Gen5DIY

I contacted the dealer in korea and they told me that all the SS in korea come as i have it where does not interact with the HMI module.

I asked them if i can fix this and they told that i have to bring the car however i live in dubai so i guess I'm gonna check our dealer.

What do think is the solution for this? like what they gonna do?

The only way is to get an HMI module that supports that function.

I went today to the dealer and they told me "We don't work with imports" so now i don't know what to do.

I guess im just gonna leave it like that.

You could try and call Gen5DIY (https://www.gen5diy.com/), those guys are very helpful and may be able to help you out. As a germane example, they do sell customized HMIs that have front camera view functionality, see this video about it: https://youtu.be/Dcza6DuzPr4.

You might try a battery “disconnect” reset!
