HP Tuners

I was looking at software so I can tweek my trans a bit. Has anyone tried tuning their trans and is the software fairly user friendly?

How much do you understand computers and car mechanics in general? If both of those answers are pretty good, then go for it.

Hptuners can be very intimidating cause there is a lot of options and tables you can change. Knowing what does what and when is some of the battle. If you do go for it do as much learning and information finding as you can before you start just changing things.

That being said, once you kinda know your way around and what you want to achieve, it's very simple and a pretty amazing tool. Hope this helps.

I agree 100%, I've had HPT since around 2005 or so, each revision and each change of the computers used in the vehicles has made HPT more and more complicated to use in that you really need to know and understand what the tables control and how the tables work.

We have them available if you're interested. They are a great tool but a solid level of computers and mechanics is a must. That being said there are forums for help and classes you can take.

I'll have to do some digging for some screenshots of the program. I've never not been able to figure something out but making an error can be costly.

Hello, You can purchase HPtuners from JRE along with a custom tune for your needs.

Then you will have a good baseline to work off of.

Ted.
