Does the Camaro use HID headlamps?

Are HIDs standard on these cars?

2016 and onward?

Not on base models (1LS, 1LT and 2LT)... but included with the "RS" package, if chosen. They were standard on V8 models and supercharged V8 (ZL1).

Same for rear LED lights.

See you!!,

Just go to the CARID site and buy the high quality LED headlights. They run cooler, are cheaper and will last 10+ years. HIDs are over-rated.

2016-2018: halogen on 1LT and 2LT (upgradable to HID via "lighting and convenience" or "RS" packages), HID on 1SS, 2SS and ZL1
2019-2020: all LED on all models

Both HID and LED headlights on the Camaro are excellent, and halogens suck of course.

I put 5500K bulbs in mine and the color temp. just about matches my g/f's LED lights on her Mazda CX-5.

The BIGGEST difference though for me was the beam pattern. It's a little higher (not enough to blind oncoming traffic, not much better than stock) than the stock bulbs. On mine stock, the beam pattern was angled too far down and so you couldn't see that far ahead.

Where did you find this info? I can't find anything online about my headlights being LED. Super excited if that's true, though!

Yours is mentioned in GM's 2019 Camaro playbook, see at https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=525673.

Actually, turn signals are still not LED on lower trims, I got that wrong (I upgraded mine to LED bulbs on day one and have forgotten about them, heh).
