It would make sense. This strategy gives GMC a chance to really carve their own niche in the market rather than just being alternatives to equivalent Chevrolets. Seems like most people who want a work truck or bare bones base model are going to buy the Chevrolet offering anyways.

This would make 7 trims for Silverado and 6 for GMC. WT Custom CTB LT LTTB RST ZR2 vs. Elevation SLT AT4 AT4X DENALI DENALI ULT You can still have part sharing between models to lower cost as well(LTTB at AT4 for instance). And ease the burden on semiconductor usage. I think the big girls ( full size SUVs) are separated enough now they're fine. |

STARTING at 40k, good Lord. I'm really impressed though with the design elements, clearly pushing GMC upmarket from the Chevy twin.

I balked a little at that too, but... Standard 2.7T HO Standard factory lift Standard widened track No base work truck model It makes sense.

That's a good point. It's more differentiation for the twins.

Hopefully like the full size AT4, that it will include leather seats instead of that being another package add on. (of course, the full size AT4 starts in the mid 60s...yikes)

I had an S10 zr2 and a Colorado Z71 years back, really like what I’m seeing on the midsize redesigns, top to bottom, inside and out.

Missed that being stated, mind enlightening me? Or just going off the previous gen?

Spec sheet separates the Elevation trim into 2WD and 4WD but doesn't for any of the others. Leads me to assume 4WD is standard on those.

4WD is part of the current AT4. Can't select 2WD on the site configurator when selecting AT4. If you do select 2WD, it changes the trim to something else. So I'd agree with that.

I priced a 2022 Canyon Elevation Crew Cab Short Box with the 3.6L. Basically tried to get it as close to a 2023's level of equipment.
Came out to $37k. If a 2023 Canyon Elevation starts at $41k then that honestly makes sense.
