For those that want more air into the filter and are not afraid to mod the vehicle a bit. I decided to run the air filter right behind the top grille with a four inch custom intake pipe that I made. Not for everyone because to clean or replace you do have to take off a few parts to get at it. Plus you need to cut a support on front cowl and then weld in a couple extra supports.

Looks "cool" BB, but should I ask how the coolant reservoir got on that side of the radiator?

I need to check my plugs after NOS runs and the passenger side is not very friendly to easy access. So moving the coolant tank and pulling the wire loom away from the headers helps a lot to free up space on that side.

I emailed Velossa Tech a few weeks ago and they said they would be interested in making one for the Lt1 trim cars. So I put a hit out on one of the camaro fb pages and found a guy localish. Gave Velossa his information to contact so hopefully they will have one available to the masses sometime soon

Sorry guys. Nothing ever came about with Velossa tech. They are going to need some more coaxing/urging to get it done

That is a very cool setup. It's reminds me when I was 16 and had a cavalier, I ran a dryer vent hope from under my car to the engine for the intake. It surprisedly gave a big boost.

Do you have to weld on supports? Which ones did you have to remove. I'm thinking about just removing some stuff to look, got any advice on parts and/or the route?

But I don't mind the from the top alternative as much, but it is a PIA also.

Some time ago the owner of VT offered us a free VT scoop made for the LT1 if someone who has one visits the shop near Tampa FL stops in for a fitment. VT now has a ZL1 version, but still no LT1. The LT1 is the most likely home for this mod being the fastest V8 Camaro and most likely 1/4 mile tracker.

Does anyone with an LT1 live near Tampa? Maybe once they have your bumper off they could figure out how to add a front tow hook. I have 2 factory ones.

Didn't know they were in Tampa bay, good to know.

Bringing this back up. Guys with LT1 models, have you installed one of these that fit?
I emailed VELOSSA TECH a couple times. They told me this one will fit the LT1 model https://www.velossatechdesign.com/pr...4599d890&_ss=r

I emailed them back to make it clear I have the LT1 model, not the SS or ZL1. They reiterated back to me that it will fit my LT1.

I have the Velossa big mouth, and it's very likely to fit, because it attaches to the driver side crash beam reinforcement bar and guides air into the intake duct, both of which should be in the same position on the LT1, SS and the ZL1. The snorkel will not obstruct the front grille either, the worst case scenario is that some of the air will still be blocked after installation, although IMO that's unlikely.

Here's a photo from my old 2LT to illustrate, it isn't even a V8 but this structure is almost exactly the same. So, all in all, I think you'll be good.

Thank you arpad_m

I'm hoping this velossatech can lower IATs off idle. My past cars had CAI kits and they were always good for a couple tenths while making the 60' more consistent. I believe the consistency had to do with cooler air off idle

Velossa tech assured me it would fit my LT1 car even after I stressed the fact others said it did not fit their LT1 car. Twice they assured me. But nope. Doesn’t fit and plastic is a little scuffed up so I can’t return it. I might try to modify the piece or sell it. IDK yet.
