The middle of the roof will be blue (cold). There is of course a tiny weight gain and if you are a person over 6' you might have your helmet touching the top, but I'm 5'11" and do not have that problem. Cool fact though, most helmets don't fit through the door window...so you are probably going to die.

The sunroof was only available with the 2SS package I believe. That's what I have. Could have been changed.

no bs i would never order a track car with a sun/moonroof

extra weight and looks dumb

but also on my old car cobalt ss my buddy has one with sunroof and he broke his 3 times from tracking his car from the excessive body flex under loads

Seriously?

As in, you seriously consider this to be valid for the Camaro SS 1LE? I'd say that's more related to the Colbalt not intended to be a track car. It's a sporty-ish economy car...but man, talk about logical fallacy.

My first experience with a Gen6 Camaro was driving my buddy's 2016 SS. It had a sunroof and I was surprised at how much the sunroof impacted the head room. My head was almost touching the sunroof with the seat all the way down. I don't feel that way at all in my 1LE that doesn't have a sunroof. I have plenty of head room in the 1LE. I do wonder if the seats also impact head room. The SS had the regular SS seats and my 1LE of course has the Recaro seats.

I do also like the reverse mohawk look of the Camaro without a sunroof rather than the flat roof in the cars that have sunroofs.

Yeah, one issue is a lot of people try to jack seats up as far as they will go to get into a school-bus position. This is how every company-car is set up when I get in. If you are tall, you naturally put it lower, but some people get freaked out by this. For things like AutoX, you get used to the size of the car and where the edges are. You don't see the long nose out front, but you get to know the dimensions through use and adapt and it's not a problem. Usually it's the older guys that are hitting every cone and dragging them across the course. More power to them, I hope to still be competing then too. The sunroof also "opens up" the cabin a lot, makes it seem more "airy", even if it's not.

To me, it's three words: reverse mohawk roofline. I wouldn't want a sunroof on my Camaro even if GM paid me to order one. We aren't all alike, I guess

I'm happy with my reverse mohawk roofline too. I sure hope I don't have to get a matching reverse mohawk haircut.

So dealer number 2 said it could be added no problem and showed me the build with it, however they want $2,000 over msrp for the car .. I sent dealer number one proof that it can be added but there has been no response yet.

I guess I’ll try a 3rd dealer.

I had the sunroof in my 16 2SS and I loved it BUT since I am tall I lacked the head room and I paid for it during track days when the car get airborne or turning. I traded my old one for the 1SS 1LE for the mohawk roofline and it feels alot better with the helmet on. It has it's pros and cons for sure. I do miss my sunroof at times but love my head space more lol

Forget about the sunroof. My 12 ls3 camaro had it and had head clearance issues on top of that the aftermarket exhaust caused a drone and rattle from the sunroof area. My daily has a sunroof came with the package but never use it at least in summer because all hail air conditioning. Now this one below, a t-top similar to a vette or a classic firebird, i would have been fine in a 1le.

Just an update, the initial dealer had entered the order as a 1SS, that is why the sunroof wasn't available.

I ended up switching the order to a ZL1 (Non 1LE).

If you like the sunroof get it. The 20lbs it adds is negligible. The top roof center dosnt transfer the weight or hold strength to the cars design. Just push down on a non sunroof roof and you'll see the flex it's sheet metal.

The light that the sunroof brings in really does make the cockpit feel less claustrophobic. It does suck that you lose a couple inches of headroom though.

I hear sunroof and think "short people are so cute" :-P Things I'll never be able to have.
