Like Yosh6 said.... Hoosier DBR 28"X10.5"X17R
These I think hook better than the R's and they are MUCH lighter! Not DOT though! :(

What about this Hoosier DR? https://www.summitracing.com/parts/hoo-17318dr2 They make a 325/40/17
The strip is 4 miles away and I'll never drive them in the wet. Quote:

Nitto NT05R is a good inbetween tire. Its like better than the MT ET street SS but just short of the ET Street R.

I like what I see. Less aggressive tread than the Toyo and much less tread than the NT555RII. The P 315 /35 R17 93 SL BSW might work

That being said a 315/35/17 is too short.

There are hundreds running the MT R and to say they are not balanceable is just wrong. I ran them for 3 years on my 16 SS as many others have with best et of 9.41@147 and the new owner ran 9.33@149. So I'd have someone else balance them, also if they are aftermarket wheels you may need a hub centric ring to center the wheel on the hub.

I've run 2 different sets of the Nitto 555 R2s on my C7, one set for the street and one for the drag strip. Currently waiting for a set for my new Camaro but they've been on back order for several months. They hook really well and they also match the 555G2s if your running those like I am.

As I noted, they make a 325/40/17, which is what my Mickey's are. Are you thinking I need a 19" like my OEM 3R? Will a 345 fit my car?
It's not like I have something against Nitto per se, rather it's that the tread pattern looks too much like my 4S street tires. I asked about 555r2 last week and they're on back order, as almost everything is these days.

No, Hoosier does not list the DR2 Drag Radial in 325/40-17, you actually linked to a 15" tire.
Closest DR that I found to your desired size is a 325/45-17 from M&H, here's the listing, out of stock as typical for these times: https://www.mandhtires.com/M-H-Drag-Radials/325-45R17 |

As Wnta1SS pointed out M&H does make a 325/45/17 but they are never in stock. Toyo has a TQ drag radial in a 345/40/17. Tread pattern looks means absolutely Dick. The 555r2 is a R compound tire unlike your PS4's. Not even on the same planet far as dry traction. Either way good luck finding anything right now.

we had trouble getting one of my current mt et street r to balance. 180'd the tire and it was fine after that. id guess i put 2k+ miles on that setup last year. no issues.

They're a major and surprising disappointment for me because they perform well for many racers. I'll get credit for them and try Toyo R888R and Nitto's 555RII

I'm not sure why you keep saying the DBR is not a Drag Radial and calling it a slick? It IS a drag radial its even in the name "Drag Bracket Radial". If you look inside the tire you can clearly see the radial construction as apposed to bias ply, also the sidewall construction is also a give away. That being said you are right sadly its not DOT approved, if you are racing in DOT specific classes. I ran the 305/45/17 ET R's and switched to the DBR 28/10.5/17 and couldn't be happier. Tire works much better, lighter, and was cheaper at the time. Now with ET R's being impossible to get for the past 1.5 years I expect the DBR's will soon get all bought up too. =(
