My suggestion is to keep looking and whenever you see a new one that meets your specs pop up on the Chevy site call about it. That's what I did. After a few weeks of looking I found one that had been preordered, but the buyer got tired of waiting and went another direction. As soon as I found that out I gave the dealer a deposit and was able to purchase the car when it came in.

Note the ETAs, contact the dealership and verify they sell it at MSRP, and then keep that dealer on a list. Roll through them all, as far as you'll go to buy one. Closer to the date, call them back and see if they see the car physically in transit to them, and try to get a firmer date. Try to find a good salesperson to keep in touch with you, and let them know you'll buy the car immediately if the buyer's financing falls through or they don't want it anymore.

When the date of arrival comes, call up your sales person and see if the deal has gone through or not. If they dropped out, hopefully you'll be able to secure it at the time.

This is the best I've come up with so far. I'm doing this for a 1SS that's coming in.

The dealership won't give me an ETA.
Did not work for me. I got nothing. VIN is 1G1FE1R72N0112705

I put $500.00 down on the car when it showed "in transit" on the Chevrolet inventory website for a MSRP deal (and no dealer added options). Dealer told me I could get my deposit back if it does not arrive in 2 months, which will put me in the middle of this month. If it does not arrive by then, I am leaning toward just cutting bait and moving on. I am losing interest and wondering if the whole idea of getting a Camaro "toy" (a car I do not need and will not daily drive) is a foolish idea. I knew it was somewhat foolish, being the practical, frugal, conservative guy that I am, but I went against my nature to "live a little" and get another muscle car like I used to have back in the late 70s (grew up with the real deals) for the nostalgia that I crave. Oh well.

I just put a deposit on a Rapid Blue 1LE in Transit. Let's hope it's not too far out. I have the VIN, and I believe there's a site or somewhere I can check that status and location right? Can anyone paste that please?

Hey guys, if anyone is looking for a new M6 1LE, my local dealer has one. They just got it in. It is actually the car I ordered, but I ended up buying a used 1LE from another member here.
2022 Summit white, 2SS, 1LE, 6-speed manual, nav, sunroof, red knee pads. So if you want one at MSRP this is your chance.

608-729-6716 ask for Tom, he's real good guy. I have no affiliation with the dealer other than this was the car I ordered.

I got lucky last week and found an in transit Rapid Blue 1SS M6 for MSRP! 4300 status with an ETA of 6/30. The dealer is almost 800 miles away, but the trip home should be fun .
I picked up a 2022 Toyota GR86 back in April. Sold it to Carvana a couple weeks ago for $6k (market is full retard right now for sure) over what I bought it for. Decided it was finally time to get what I've really wanted. Going to feel like a long month, I'm excited!

Does the dealer tell you the 4300 status or are you able to find that out on your own? I don't want to bug my dealer if I don't have to.

Status was on the build sheet they gave me when I secured the car. You can also call GM customer service or use the online chat in the website and give them the order number for an update.

Just put a deposit on a 22 Rapid Blue 1SS/1LE I found in transit.
I’m so excited for this. Originally was holding off for the Nissan Z but who knows when they will be available.
The 1LE is about 5 grand less and is a better car anyway so I can’t wait !

I put down a deposit for an "in transit" 1LE in the middle of May and I called Chevrolet about a week ago and was told it would be another month, but I have been getting all kinds of expected delivery dates prior to that that never occurred. That would be a 3.5 month wait, if it even shows up then.

At this point I have lost interest in Camaros, so I cancelled the dealer and cancelled and got my deposit back. I am not blaming anyone, not even Chevrolet, with all the supply and transportation shortages, etc. I am just moving on. Good luck to the rest of you. Adios
