To be fair in 0-60 times most EV’s do not perform well. Nissan Leaf is a 7.4 second 0-60 MPH car. Chevy Bolt does 0-60 in 6.4 seconds. Contrary to popular belief not every EV out there performs like a Tesla Model 3 Performance or Tesla S plaid. Most perform worse than their ICE counterparts, and they’re also heavier too.

As for EV’s, if I buy one it will strictly be for the tax credit. I’m not selling my ICE cars for one. Don’t care if gas hits $20 a gallon. I will not be ‘forced’ into driving something just to feed someone else’s wallet.

But at 20 bucks a gallon, aren't you being forced to feed some already rich oil company executive's pocket?

I atleast retain my freedom and right to drive what I desire to drive. These elitists want me to drive what THEY think is best for me for their personal gain. You see the danger in that? They will condition us to want and need what they can profit from and we will slowly lose our freedom of choice. They'll still be off flying their private jets spewing Co2 all through the atmosphere all awhile touting about how we need to go greener while we're sitting on the ground waiting 30 minutes for our appliance to recharge... ...Apparently neither side is good, but one of them wants to convert me into a mindless drone and manipulate me into their corporate slave. The other just takes the profit with a big grin on his face and carries on about his day not giving a rat about my life as a peon. Both suck, but one sucks worse.

I think the EVs we have seen from Nissan and GM are not great examples of what is coming. The battery tech has improved dramatically. With these larger 75-100kWh battery packs becoming standard now we will see much higher performance. Ford Lightning and Silverado EV pickup will do 0-60mph in the 4 second range. You will also see performance restricted by software and manufacturers will monetize features via OTA software upgrades.

I personally care more about how quickly they can be recharged, or how long they can go on a full charge.. ..the former more than the latter. I would need a 5% - 80% recharge time in the time frame of 5 minutes before I can commit to one. I drive ALOT, and drive long distances alot too.

It could've just as easily been badged a GMC and not a Chevy.
