Horrible gmpp tune

Has anyone else noticed that the gmpp tune for the gm cold air intake, is Terrible? I recently purchased a 2017 with this combo installed and the car feels slower then every other stock 1le I’ve driven.

I’m wondering what it would take to have the car flashed back to stock tune by my dealer?

Just FYI that I pulled before and after shots of the ECM when I had mine installed. I used the Difference function in HP Tuners and it only showed a recalibration for the MAF. It didn't detect any other parameter changes. It's my guess that the dealer isn't allowed to flash back unless you remove the GMPP intake and reinstall the original intake.

Honestly I would be happy to reinstall the factory air box. The gm tune and intake makes less power then a stock 1le.

Actually it is backed by science. I have a dyno sheet from the previous owner showing a before and after. There is a 10-15 hp loss between the stock and gmpp setup. But thanks for your input!

Go check the install. The alignment between the MAF tube, filter, and box are critical.

My butt dyno thinks that the car feels the same, with more some more pop and gurgles.

It definitely does not feel weaker.

Done on the same dyno in similar conditions?

They must have done something wrong. Mine feels livelier (and louder) with the GM CAI and tune.

I just run the air box portion for looks and a bit more noise. Never got the tube out of the box. Will be able to sell it with the tune still available for a VIN if I ever go a different route. No or not enough difference felt between stock and it. So many aftermarket mods say you gain a billion rwhp with a CAI, or catback, or [insert part name of choice].

I did not data log MAP or MAF before and after, but, you could to see manifold depression change (or not) and MAF g/sec change (or not) with each modification to the intake and / or exhaust stream. Of course, you'd need to see this under as controlled / repeated conditions for an apples-to-apples comparison.

Plus, the old saying is true both ways: You can't get in what you can't get out...
