Want to pull the trigger on the cooled seat wiring but was waiting on if heated portion is being developed.

the cooled seat controller is the first mod I did to my car. No Ragrets. Use it daily here in Texas.

Is this worth doing for HOT track days since you don't have the AC on?

I’m in the same boat but judging by the time frame I think it’s safe to say that the heated seat portion is not coming

Mike, with the windows down, they are basically worthless. Can’t feel them in wife’s convertible either. My 15 2500 HD Silverado was the last of the few years they used thermistors for actual cooling then got cheap and went back to ventilated. Nice kit from Gen5, but if for track use, I’d skip.

I’d also skip if it’s for track days. I was at Sebring earlier this month and it was HOT outside. I had a shop install the gen5 diy wiring kit and I barely feel it when daily driving. I felt it more on a Mustang GT I rented.

FWIW the factory Recaros are not that hot compared to other seat designs. There have been hot days where I would have had a soaked shirt from driving, yet with these Recaros my shirt back remains dry for the most part.

Asking if anyone knows if development on this will continue for the heating portion or is that it?

Was waiting for both, but i'll pull the trigger if cooling is it.

The addition of heating would definitely be nice

I just purchased a new (well, new to me) 2017 SS 1LE (HBM) and the only thing I didn't like was that it didn't have cooled seats (I live in Houston... this is a necessity). Then I found this thread, and then I found the kit on 5GenDIY and I cannot express how happy this made me!

Kudos to everyone in this thread who investigated and developed this functionality. I bequeath to thee all my internets

Yes i use it on the track in hot weather or more common in the pits after without ac really helps when things get sweaty

Just installed this kit and, again, thanks to everyone involved with its development. So happy with the result.

Hi All,

Please forgive me if I have the same question that everyone does.

I have a '22 1SS 1LE, there's a factory sticker on the bottom of my seats that says "WITH HEAT/VENT". My dashboard switches are blank, but it does stand to reason that GM includes those wires from the blank switches to the seats even though the car wasn't optioned with that equipment. Can anyone prove or disprove this?

I'm sure someone has been able to crack the code by now, something about a 2SS hvac or ac control module and a little BCM reprogramming? I'm wondering if anyone could shed some light and provide some direction for someone looking to DIY a little heated and cooled seats in their 1SS.
