Thumbs up Flashing lights ticket!

For those who flash their lights to warn of an impending speed trap.

In the old days, we used to do "Smokey Reports" on our CB radios, that was free speach also. Now days I have seen websites that post speed trap locations.

I say if their going fast enought that you have to warn them of a police officer then they deserve the ticket. Thats like radio stations putting out locations of DUI check points, why not let drunk drivers continue to drive. rant over

"Depends on how you go about it...it still could be a violation of "failure to dim" here in Wisconsin. Plus, federal court rulings out of Missouri are not applicable here. Just a heads up."

Quote from a location sheriff that is my friend.

Judge passed law today

High beam or signal to show traps is not illegal

This is good info to know, Free Speech, just like the Duck Dynasty guy.

I hate when speed traps single me out just because my car is orange.

One cop couldn't point his laser at my car fast enough as he was backing
into his spot on the highway.

Your sheriff friend is wrong, flashing your lights is not a "failure to dim" for the simple fact that flashing your lights indicates that you were not running with your brights on. Most people flash their lights off and on to warn of such things. Now on the other hand people driving toward me with their brights on do get a taste of the high beams.

Also federal court rulings do set precedence for our civil and constitutional rights in all states.

It's sad to see what some officers nowadays will do to try and impose their power trip on law abiding citizens rather than look for drug dealers and such. I mean really a speed trap at a location where the speed drops from 55 to 45 coming around a bend is not protecting the people, it's just generating revenue.

Sorry for the rant.
