All the cars could handle the course except the Dodges - they had to try to drift through the corners to get through and were therefore slow as molasses
I'll have to respectfully disagree with that. I hold allegiance to nothing here, so take this from a neutral position. Let's all re-listen to this again shall we? https://youtu.be/RiF54pLOoKw

Not simply a "tuned" Hellcat engine, and this car is purposefully built for one thing only. Watch the vid, listen to the dude, report back.

The 1/4 mile tracks, or any track for that matter is closed during the winter.

OK, if you mean ice-racing on frozen lakes and rivers with studded Hakka tires, then I concur lol.

... even in "Mexico", there is still racing to be done.

Ok, perhaps the context of my answer to you was off the mark by a few degrees, lol.

I will reserve all judgment until some official reviews have been completed. With that being said, I want to see this car's street mannerisms. IMHO, ~90-95% of them will never see a track, since I believe most owner's won't be too willing to hack up their ~$85-90k car in order to install a cage. Will it handle better, is it more nimble, is it simply a one trick (stop light to stop light) pony? We should know in a few weeks. As I've stated plenty of times before, I'm a GM guy, but when I see something cool, I can appreciate it. Competition breeds success.

Yeah, what good is street legal if it sucks on the street. I stiffened my suspension a bit too much in the name of performance and sometimes regret it depending on the road surface.

It's amazing watching fake news articles and their effects on people.

You never once thought to yourself, "I wonder why I never see a 1/4 mi purpose built race car on the twisties?" Or, "Gee, why is the ZL1 so great at the 1/4 mi but gets dominated by the Z/28 on the track?"

Online articles said it though, so it must be true. Dodge released the first ever vehicle in history that can dominate both the 1/4 mi and twisties. They have Guinness book of records to prove it!

It isn't that either...there are more than a few cars that trap higher.

Not a fail.

No cage is, to me, a plus. For people who aren't going to race it... which, let's be real, is most everybody who buys one... they don't have to deal with it and you can actually carry passengers in the back seat (if you buy one for $1).

If you want to race it you put in a cage because you are a racer and that's what you do.

Not a fail.

Calling it the "fastest" production car is, semantics notwithstanding, marketing genius because 1.) everybody knows what they mean, and in that context 2.) it is.

Far from being a fail, the Demon is an out-and-out home run.
The fail is that the bosses allowed them to do this when their whole car line as a whole is junk. How does upper management allow them to spend even a dime on R&D on this when they have absolute crap sitting on the showroom floor and are not in good shape? For some publicity that in a month will be old news? I mean the 200 and the Dart replacements are where 100% of this money should have went...thank God I sold my stock years ago...

But it isn't. P1, LaFerrari, 918, Super Sport all trap higher...

...and once the Chiron is tested, it won't be the quickest anymore either.
