Anyone use any other shops in the Des Moines area aside from Karls? I am looking at Teds JRE 125 kit and Karls won't install anything that isn't bought from them.

Who else can I look at ?

They must of changed the way they do business then because I had bought all my parts for a cam swap and they installed it in the fall of 2014. There is a WS6 shop just south of Des Moines (Norwalk, IA) that works on LS vehicles that you could check out. http://www.ws6project.com/user_stor/...contact_us.php

well if the guys are the ones karls fired i would stay away!! if tuner name is clinton run away!

No. Don't know a Clinton. The guys I met didn't get fired they left like the rest of the company did. Karls had no one of experience anymore and were very rude when I called them. Still waiting going on two weeks for my quote. I absolutely won't be taking my car there.

Clinton is at WS6 Store as far as I know. He tuned my buddies cammed '01 Trans Am and my buddy is happy with the results. No hiccups, no issues and Clinton even met him at the strip here in town to dial in the tune a little more. The new guy at Karl Performance is supposedly really good. He has a lot of praise from people on the webs.

I would have given Karls a chance. But too much horrible customer service and trying to sell me on things I don't need. They didn't even call me back. You think you would get a call back if you're willing to spend 6-8k in upgrades.

Me and firefighter assassin both had bad experience. I'm not sure I would ever go back. I would probably take my car to SLP in Illinois.

karls has since made things right with me. they might not be my go to place but they are trying to improve.

Jordan opened up a shop in Des Moines. He installed my JRE 125 kit last week. Runs excellent. May do some data logging and have Ted remote tune some more but runs and sounds excellent. They did a good job on the install.

Clinton has done damn good for me. My car with KB has o problems and drives like a stocker until you gas it...then it's tire burning and all over the road.
