2018 GMC Acadia review
Have one as a rental. AWD SLT model. No moonroof. Heated leather and just about everything else. Absolutely love it. 9k miles and it rides like a dream. Plenty of power on the highway and interior is better than the Traverse by a long shot! If I was looking for a 3 row SUV it’d be up there. Even the wife fell in love with it.

Good to see you liked it.
Not the same, but we are pretty happy with our 2018 Terrain so far. I like the Acadia a lot too, but we didn't really NEED the size....or the price. We got 28% off msrp for our nearly loaded SLT model this past April. Acadia is supposed to get refreshed soon...interested to see what they do with it.

I really liked it. Yes it was big, but running it at 90+ mph on the Florida turnpike and I-95 gas mileage was better than expected. Ride was very nice. GM interiors are still among the worst, but this one was better than the two different Traverse models we looked at.

I love Yukon’s. Those are pretty sweet.
The only thing that would scare me away from the Acadia is the crappy 3.6L engine. Otherwise it was good, but not great. I got to drive a new BMW X5 and OMG is that thing nice. GM should go buy one and show it to the people in charge of interiors. |

The 3.6 is a good engine. Sure, it had it's share of issues up through the LLT (timing chain and sudden oil loss) but since the LFX it's been pretty good. Haven't heard any real downsides about the LGX either. It had a great balance of power and efficiency. I think it's a fantastic V6. I've had both the LLT in my past 2010 Camaro and now the LFX in my Colorado. On interiors, there's good and there's OK, but can't say anything is bad looking. Some interiors (Acadia included) are getting dated...again refresh coming. Can't honestly compare a BMW interior to a run o the mill.GMC Acadia interior fairly in terms of quality of materials used. But against Ford, I generally like GM interiors better.

I agree with you vs Ford, but when you go on price point it matters. The interior in my $32k CR-V was way nicer then comparable Chevy & GMC SUV’s. I didn’t cross shop the X1 or X2 though.

We currently own a 2014 ML 350 Bluetec. We have had a 2011 ML 350, 2013 GMC Terrain Denali (AWD, 3.6), 2007 BMW X3.
Have experience with Tahoes, Yukons, Equinox, Traverse etc through work and family. Have rented X5s, Q7s, as well. The German interiors are far superior. New MSRP, a loaded Tahoe or Yukon Denali is right in the price range of a similar equipped X5, ML (now GLE), or Q7 - as long as you don't opt for an M or AMG (Tahoe and Yukon don't offer similar HP anyway). Maintenance is the difference - much more expensive to dealer maintain your German than a domestic. That said, you can DIY on the German's and they can't legally void your warranty, but they might try to in the event of a major failure. I do my own maintenance on our vehicles, the Germans are just as easy to perform maintenance on as any domestic. Anyway, off topic quite a bit as this is about the Acadia. My work vehicle is a 3.6 AWD Traverse. Interior doesn't compare to any Tahoe, Yukon or German. Drives OK, but I would never buy another GM SUV that is based on a FWD SUV platform (our 2013 Terrain was a massive POS). That said, we may end up in a Tahoe or Yukon in the future as the family is growing - all depends on features and reliability of our current ML .

I never took my 928 S to a dealer for a consensual rape, I mean oil change. |

True story - I called the nearest Ferrari dealer to inquire about maintenance on an F430 for a friend (he was considering an F-car at the time). An oil change from the Ferrari dealer where I live was cheaper than the oil change on our ML Bluetec at the MB dealer...W Tee F!
